BEARINGS: important mechanical elements without which it is impossible

When we talk about mechanics and any field of the same, we very often hear expressions like "YOUR BEARINGS ARE GONE" or "YOU NEED TO REPLACE BEARINGS".

What characterizes the mechanics, at least when it comes to load transfer, is the ball bearing. The balls used in the bearings for force transmission are made of stainless steel or ceramic materials, and very often of chromed steel. Bearings have the function of reducing friction, so they are used in motoring, but also in other machines that have gears. In order for the bearings to function properly, they need to be lubricated.
Bearing lubrication
In order to reduce the possibility of bearing wear on sliding places, high viscosity lubricants are often used, and in addition to enabling better sliding, lubricants also serve to transfer pressure, cool the bearing under high loads, but also reduce the possibility of corrosion. There are various lubricants for bearings, and we will mention only a few. Liquid lubricants or oils are very often used, and the lubrication that is done in this way is called hydrodynamic. As for lubricating greases, they are in a slightly firmer state. It is not uncommon for a combination of solid lubricants and oils to be used to lubricate bearings. Solid lubricants are solid powders or shells that adhere to the bearing surface. There are also dry thin lubricating layers as well as gases. Sometimes it is the air or gaseous conditions that can also help the bearings to slide better on small high-speed machines.

What are camps?

You probably remember the time when you were little and when you first stepped on roller skates or skateboards. Sometimes there is a crackling sound in them, and they find it increasingly difficult to move on a flat surface. It was a signal that you had problems with the bearings, even though you weren't the most sure what the bearings really were. Bearings are essentially the same as bearings, or the same as ball bearings. These are axles that allow the wheels to rotate without load, and they can be found on a number of machines, cars, and almost everywhere where some mechanisms rotate. From the earliest days, you had the opportunity to meet them, but only when you reach the age, you realize that the whole world is one big roller that rotates, so that almost no mechanical and dynamic realization can function without these cute balls. Other types of bearings Although most of us are accustomed to the fact that the bearings are only ball, there are other forms with a similar purpose. Thus, for example, there are cylindrical roller bearings that have rollers instead of balls, then tapered roller bearings, and even needle bearings, plain bearings, and so on. All of them have a similar function, and depending on the carrying capacity of the machine in which they are installed, as well as depending on the essence, their shape also changes.
Material for bearings
It is often a question of what materials the bearings are made of. Since roller or ball bearings provide better machine operation, care should be taken about what the balls are like. The balls should be made of stainless material, so that they do not warp and do not get caught in corrosion. Therefore, chrome-plated steel is often used. What is interesting is that lately, metals have been replaced by materials that do not rust, and are not metals by origin. Due to their high durability, ceramic materials are very often used, which are extremely resistant materials.
